Overview

The Senior Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining database systems that support MY Bharat’s complex and large-scale web and mobile applications. The role requires deep expertise in both relational and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and cloud-based storage systems to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of backend services. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams and ensure database components integrate seamlessly within a microservices-based architecture.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases including Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, and Redshift
2. Build and optimize data models, schema design, indexes, and stored procedures for high-performance web and mobile applications
3. Implement efficient data pipelines, ETL jobs, and transformations aligned with Redshift and S3-based architectures
4. Monitor and fine-tune performance of databases; analyze slow queries and manage indexes
5. Manage database access control, authentication, and security policies using Keycloak, JWT, and AES-256 encryption
6. Handle data caching and visualization integration using Redash and CloudFront
7. Support message-driven workflows and event-driven architecture involving RabbitMQ
8. Manage and optimize database networking and routing with API Gateway and ELB (Elastic Load Balancer)
9. Automate database deployment, monitoring, and alerting with Docker, Jenkins, AWS pipelines, ELK Stack, and OpenSearch
10. Ensure high availability, backups, disaster recovery, and data compliance
11. Collaborate with backend developers (Laravel PHP), DevOps, and frontend teams (React JS/React Native) to align database structure with application logic
12. Maintain detailed documentation on database design, processes, configurations, and access logs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/IT, Information Systems, or a related discipline
• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in database engineering in large-scale, high-traffic environments
• Experience in cloud-based infrastructure
• Certifications in database administration (PostgreSQL, Redshift, or DynamoDB), or DevOps tools is a plus

Preferred Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, and S3 for scalable and secure data storage and processing
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and performing data modeling for high-performance applications
• Experience in building and managing ETL pipelines and handling large-scale data transformations
• Familiarity with Redash for data visualization and CloudFront for content caching and delivery
• Good understanding of RabbitMQ for asynchronous communication in a microservices environment
• Skilled in managing APIs through API Gateway and Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) for secure and scalable API traffic routing
• Knowledge of Keycloak for identity and access management, with implementation experience of JWT tokens and AES-256 encryption
• Proficient in Docker for containerization and managing deployments using Jenkins, AWS pipelines, and Git
• Experience with system monitoring and logging tools like ELK Stack and OpenSearch
• Strong analytical thinking, collaboration, and documentation skills with the ability to work effectively across development, DevOps, and security teams

Consolidated Remuneration:

• Consolidated remuneration shall be commensurate with qualifications and experience within the approved project norms.
