Overview :

The Data Scientist will play a critical role in building data-driven insights for the MY Bharat Platform, a flagship initiative under the Digital India mission aimed at empowering youth across the country. The role involves designing and implementing models and analytics to derive actionable insights from diverse user data, supporting personalization, engagement tracking, impact analysis, and policy interventions. The Role involves work at the intersection of youth development, governance, and data intelligence to help improve service delivery and strategic planning.

Responsibilities:

1. Collect, clean, and analyze large-scale structured and unstructured data from the platform
2. Design and develop predictive and classification models to enhance personalization, engagement, and program targeting
3. Perform behavioral analysis, trend forecasting, segmentation, and cohort analysis for youth engagement
4. Conduct statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to inform product and outreach strategies
5. Build and manage dashboards and visualizations for stakeholders using Redash or equivalent tools
6. Collaborate with product, UX, backend, and outreach teams to translate insights into platform features
7. Design algorithms to identify high-impact interventions and track outcomes of various programs
8. Monitor, retrain, and optimize machine learning models in live environments
9. Ensure data privacy, security, and ethical usage as per MeitY and Digital India guidelines
10. Stay updated with emerging tools and best practices in AI/ML, analytics, and e-governance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science/IT, Mathematics, or a related field
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or AI/ML roles
• Certification in Data Science/Machine Learning from reputed platforms (AWS, Google, Coursera, etc.) is a plus
• Prior experience in government, public sector, or large-scale digital platforms preferred

Preferred Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data analysis, modeling, and automation
• Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Sound knowledge of statistical methods, data modeling, clustering, classification, and regression techniques
• Experience in data visualization using tools like Redash, Power BI, Matplotlib, or Seaborn
• Familiarity with cloud services such as S3, RDS, Redshift, and data pipelines
• Understanding of ETL processes, API data integration, and real-time data handling
• Working knowledge of Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines for deploying ML models
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to data accuracy and integrity.
• Effective communication skills for presenting insights to technical and non-technical teams
• Awareness of data privacy, ethical AI practices, and governance frameworks like Digital India

Consolidated Remuneration:

• Consolidated remuneration shall be commensurate with qualifications and experience within the approved project norms.
