- B.Sc. Agriculture or Horticulture from an ICAR recognized University/Institute (M.Sc. holders must also possess B.Sc. Agriculture/Horticulture).
- Must be able to read, write and speak in one of the State languages and be conversant with local customs and traditions of Sikkim.

Essential Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: B.Sc. Agriculture or Horticulture from an ICAR recognized University/Institute. Those possessing M.Sc. in any discipline of Agriculture or Horticulture must mandatorily possess B.Sc. Agriculture or Horticulture.
- Other Qualifications: Must be able to read, write and speak in one of the State languages; must be conversant with local customs and traditions of Sikkim.
- Age Limit: 18 to 40 years as on 31/08/2026 (relaxation as per Notification No. M(3)/(55)/GEN/DOP/Pt.III dated 03/07/2017).
- Local Candidate: Must possess Sikkim Subject Certificate or Certificate of Identification, Valid Local Employment Card, Category Certificate and other documents as prescribed.
