BRIC-Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), a National Institute of the Biotechnology, Research & Innovation Council (BRIC), Department of Biotechnology, Ministry for Science & Technology, Government of India, invites applications from senior scientists (Indian citizens) with outstanding publication and innovation records to lead independent multidisciplinary research programmes.

Minimum Research Experience and Publication Record (as amended by Corrigendum)
- Eight years post-doctoral experience with high-quality peer reviewed publications as first author, corresponding author and/or co-author in large multi-author publications.
- Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative teams and lead research groups will be given due consideration.
- Product development scientists must have excellent track record in technology development, patents, demonstrated ability of transferring to industry and commercialization.
Research Areas
Including but not restricted to: cell engineering solutions; novel molecular diagnostics and nano-biotechnology for cancer care; therapeutic targets and targeted drug discovery using cellular, molecular, preclinical models and computational (AI/ML) approaches; bioengineering for cell therapy, vaccines and immuno-therapeutics; innovative bio-therapeutics and drug-antibody conjugates; devices, biosensors and diagnostic pathology; cardiovascular disease and diabetes biology; plant biotechnology & disease biology with focus on spice genomics; basic and experimental cancer research focusing on cancer genomics; pathogen biology; neurobiology; and regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.
Selection Procedure
- Level 1 Screening – an Institutional Screening Committee (ISC) determines whether the applicant meets the minimum prescribed qualifications.
- Level 2 Screening – a Faculty Screening Committee (FSC) reviews credentials, publications and achievements, then forwards recommendations to the Scientist Selection Committee (SSC).
- Final Selection – the SSC interacts with shortlisted applicants, assesses long-term career goals and value to the institute, and decides which grade of scientist to offer.
General Conditions
- This is a rolling advertisement; applications are accepted throughout the year and scrutinised quarterly. For this quarter the last date is 30 November 2026.
- Applicants should have a commitment to excellence and willingness to collaborate in inter-disciplinary projects; quality of scientific productivity, independent thinking, translational/applied research and extra mural funding are major selection factors.
