Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana – Department of Plant Breeding & Genetics invites applications on the prescribed form for engagement of one post of Sr. Research Fellow on a fixed contractual basis in the scheme “Deciphering genomic regions and elucidating mechanisms associated with whitefly tolerance as well as investigating interspecific interactions among major sucking insect pests influencing pest dynamics in cotton, Misc.-95 (PC-8010)”.

Summary

Educational Qualifications

1. B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture / B.Tech. Biotechnology with minimum OCPA 6.00/10.00 basis or 60% marks.
2. M.Sc. in Genetics & Plant Breeding / Plant Breeding / Molecular Biology & Biotechnology / Biotechnology (research project on crop plants) with minimum OCPA 6.50/10.00 basis or 65% marks and CSIR UGC/ICAR NET qualified with emoluments of Rs. 37,000/- + 16% HRA per month.
3. M.Sc. (same subjects) with minimum OCPA 6.50/10.00 or 65% marks without NET may be recruited as Project Associate I @ Rs. 30,000 + 16% HRA per month.

Notes

• The candidate who does not possess Master's degree in the relevant subject but possesses Ph.D. degree in the discipline required at the Master's level, will be eligible for the post.
• Candidates holding a Ph.D. degree are exempted from NET.
• Desirable: Experience in Plant Cytogenetics.
