IIT Delhi Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship (IPDF) - Advt No. IITD/EST-1/01/2026/IPDF

IIT Delhi invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow (IPDF) in its various academic units to strengthen the research ecosystem, promote inter-disciplinary research and groom potential faculty members. Rolling/ongoing.

Eligibility

• Indian Nationals (General/SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/EWS) and Foreign candidates who obtained their Ph.D. from a country other than India.
• Age: maximum 32 years (male) / 35 years (female); age relaxation SC/ST-5 yrs, OBC-NCL-3 yrs, General PwD-10 yrs, as per GoI.
• Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent in the preceding degree and a consistently good academic record; candidates who have submitted their thesis (not yet defended) may apply. Targeted at persons who are not IIT Delhi Ph.D. holders. Demonstrated research capabilities via publications in reputed journals/conferences.

Remuneration & Benefits

• Fellowship of Rs.80,000/month (Rs.65,000 if thesis submitted but not defended) plus HRA at GoI rates for New Delhi (no Institute accommodation).
• Professional Development Allowance (PDA) of Rs.1.00 lakh per financial year (Rs.25,000/quarter). Medical facility (IITD hospital OPD) on payment basis.
