Cochin Port Sr. Dy. Chief Accounts Officer Exam Syllabus 2026
Cochin Port Authority (CoPA) has published the syllabus for the Written Examination for the post of Sr. Dy. Chief Accounts Officer (Notice No. A9/Fin/Sr.Dy.CAO/CoPA/2024/S dated 01.09.2026). Candidates are provisionally admitted to the examination based on self-declaration; certificates will be verified at a subsequent stage.

General Instructions
- Reach the examination centre 60 minutes before the exam.
- Entry not allowed after 15 minutes of commencement of the examination.

Module I – Accounting Standards & Financial Reporting Frameworks: Applicability/interpretation of Accounting Standards in PSU context; presentation- and disclosure-based, asset-based, liability-based standards (incl. provisions & contingent liabilities); income/expense & measurement issues; revenue recognition & government-linked revenue streams; consolidated financial statements; preparation & presentation of company financial statements; sustainability reporting, BRSR, ESG disclosures & integrated reporting.
Module II – Financial Statements, Analysis & Management Reporting: Preparation of final accounts; income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements; financial ratios & trend analysis; Balanced Scorecard & outcome-based frameworks; internal audit (performance/compliance/efficiency audit); management reporting; financial risk identification & mitigation in PSUs; financial analytics, dashboards; digital finance, ERP-based reporting & cyber risks.
Module III – Financial Management & Corporate Finance: Capital budgeting (NPV, IRR, payback, capital rationing); working capital management; cash flow planning & fund cycle analysis; foreign exchange exposure & risk management (forwards & futures); interest rate risk & cost of capital.
Module IV – Costing, Budgeting & Performance Control: CVP analysis; standard costing & variance analysis; Activity-Based Costing & strategic cost management; contract/project costing; budgeting systems, budgetary control & responsibility accounting.
Module V – Statutory Framework, Governance & Regulatory Compliance: Income Tax (salary, PGBP, TDS/TCS, ITR filing); role of CAG, CVC, RTI Act, DPE Guidelines; public procurement frameworks; Government e-Marketplace (GeM); GST Acts, rules, compliance & sectoral issues.
