The Indian Air Force (IAF) invites ONLINE applications from MALE Indian citizens and Gorkha (subject of Nepal) for selection as Airmen in Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant Trade for Airmen Intake 02/2027.

Age Limit

10+2 Candidates: Born between 01 July 2006 and 01 July 2010 (both dates inclusive). Unmarried.

Diploma / B.Pharma / B.Sc Pharmacy Candidates: Unmarried candidates born between 01 July 2003 and 01 July 2008. Married candidates born between 01 July 2003 and 01 July 2006.

Upper age limit at enrolment: 21 years for 10+2 candidates; 24 years for Diploma / B.Pharma / B.Sc Pharmacy holders.

Educational Qualification

+

For 10+2 candidates: Passed 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

OR Passed two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English) with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

For Diploma / B.Pharma / B.Sc Pharmacy candidates: Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (50% aggregate, 50% English) AND Diploma / B.Pharma / B.Sc in Pharmacy with minimum 50% aggregate with valid registration from State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) at time of enrolment.

  • Height: Minimum 152 cm

  • Visual Acuity: 6/36 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye (CP-II colour vision)

  • Hearing: Normal – able to hear forced whisper from 6 metres by each ear

  • Dental: Healthy gums, minimum 14 dental points (no implants or orthodontic appliances allowed)

  • During training: Stipend of ?14,600 per month

Selection Process

+

Phase-I (Online Test): 45 minutes objective type paper covering English (as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA). Questions bilingual (English & Hindi) except English paper. Marking: +1 correct, 0 unattempted, –0.25 wrong.

Phase-II: Shortlisted candidates undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) – 1.6 km run (7 min for up to 21 years, 7 min 30 sec for above 21), 10 Push-ups (1 min), 10 Sit-ups (1 min), 20 Squats (1 min); followed by Adaptability Test I (written) and Adaptability Test II.

Phase-III: Medical Examination by Air Force Medical Team including blood haemogram, urine RE/ME, biochemistry, chest radiograph, ECG, and other investigations as deemed necessary.

Service Terms

Initial enrolment for 20 years (extendable up to 57 years). Candidates undergo Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) followed by trade training. This is a permanent Airmen position (not Agnipath).
