IAF Agniveervayu (Other Than Science) Open Recruitment Rally 01/2027

The Indian Air Force (IAF) invites applications for Agniveervayu (Other Than Science Subjects) through Open Recruitment Rally (OS Rally 01/2027) for candidates from the North East states and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The rally will be held from 31 August to 7 September 2026.

Reporting Time: 6 AM onwards. Candidates must report by 10 AM on their scheduled date with all original documents.

Indian Air Force Age Limit 2026

Candidates born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible. Upper age limit on date of enrolment should not exceed 22 years.

Educational Qualification

• Passed 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent in any stream/subjects from Education Boards recognised by Central/State/UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
• OR passed 2-year Vocational Course from Education Boards recognised by Central/State/UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
• OR passed 3-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from Central/State/UT recognised Polytechnic with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Note: Exact aggregate percentage before decimal as written in the marksheet shall be considered (e.g. 49.99% = 49%, not rounded off to 50%).

Domicile Requirement

• Permanent Domicile of the districts of State(s)/UT as mentioned above. Candidates must produce a Domicile Certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer in Revenue Department or any official authorised by the State Government.
• COAFP (Children of Air Force Personnel): Children of serving/retired/deceased Air Force personnel (Officers/Airmen/NCs(E)/Civilians) residing in the above states/UTs are also eligible.

Physical Standards

Indian Air Force Advertisement & Terms

• Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
• Engagement period: Four (4) years.
• Candidates shall not marry during the engagement period. Female candidates shall not get pregnant during the engagement period.
• No Ex-Servicemen (ESM) status after completion of four years.
• Eligible to appear in commissioning examinations (max 5 attempts) during engagement period.
• Opportunity to apply for regular cadre enrolment after 4 years (up to 25% of batch).

Pay, Allowances & Benefits

Total Seva Nidhi after 4 years: Approximately ₹ 10.04 Lakhs (corpus of ₹ 5.02 Lakhs + matching Government contribution).

• Life Insurance Cover: ₹ 48 Lakhs (non-contributory) during engagement period
• Risk & Hardship Allowance, Dress & Travel Allowance as applicable
• Medical facilities at service hospitals and CSD provisions
• Annual Leave: 30 days per year

Indian Air Force Selection Process 2026

1. Verification of Eligibility: Original/DigiLocker certificates, domicile proof, COAFP, NCC, discharge certificate (if applicable), consent form.
2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
   • PFT-I: 1.6 km run – Male: within 7 min; Female: within 8 min
   • PFT-II: After 10 min break – Male: 10 Push-ups (1 min), 10 Sit-ups (1 min), 20 Squats (1 min); Female: 10 Sit-ups (1.5 min), 15 Squats (1 min)
3. Written Test (45 minutes, same day as PFT):
   • English: 20 questions (as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus) – Must qualify separately
   • Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA): 30 questions – Must qualify separately
   • Marking: +1 for correct, 0 for unattempted, −0.25 for wrong answer
   • Bilingual (English & Hindi) except English paper. OMR sheet.
   • Results declared on the same day.
4. Adaptability Test-I (AT-I): Objective test assessing suitability for IAF deployment in varied terrain and operational conditions.
5. Adaptability Test-II (AT-II): Assesses ability to adapt to IAF environment and military way of life.
6. Medical Examination: Conducted in September at designated Medical Boarding Centres (Jorhat for 11 ASC, Sri Vijaya Puram for 8 ASC). Includes Blood Haemogram, Urine RE/ME, Biochemistry (Sugar, Cholesterol, RFT, LFT), Chest X-ray, Ultrasound (females), ECG.

Provisional Select List (PSL) tentatively on 14 November 2026 at 8 ASC (Chennai) and 11 ASC (Guwahati) and on web portal. Enrolment List tentatively on 01 December 2026.

Indian Air Force Important Instructions

• Mobile phones, smart watches, and electronic devices are prohibited in testing areas. Candidates found in possession will be permanently debarred.
• Candidates discharged from Indian Air Force for any reason are not eligible.
• Candidates debarred permanently from any previous IAF exam due to malpractice are not eligible.
• Body tattoos only allowed on inner face of forearms, dorsal part of hand, and back. Offensive/obscene tattoos prohibited. Tribal tattoos as per custom permitted.
• Only Sikh candidates may grow hair/beard as per religious faith.
• Zero tolerance policy to alcoholism and substance abuse. NDPS Act violation = reject.

Q5. What is the selection process?

Q6. Is there negative marking in the written test?

Yes. 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. No marks for unattempted questions.

No. Agniveervayu enrolled under this scheme will not be eligible for Ex-Servicemen status after discharge. However, they may apply for regular cadre enrolment (up to 25% of each batch) or appear in commissioning examinations (max 5 attempts).
