Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar – 751004 invites applications for the temporary engagement of Guest Faculty in the rank of Assistant Professor to fill up vacancies against sanctioned posts permitted vide HED Letter No. 4477/HE dated 01.02.2024.

How to Apply
Applications in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) along with relevant documents must reach the Office of the Registrar, Utkal University on or before 21.08.2026 (5.00 P.M.) by Speed Post / Registered Post only. Envelopes should be superscribed mentioning the post applied for. No other mode of submission is accepted.
Honorarium
| Assistant Professors (Guest Faculty / Retired Assistant Professors with Ph.D., engaged for PG courses) | Rs. 1,000/- per class (Max. 60 classes/month – Rs. 60,000/- max) |
| Assistant Professors (Guest Faculty / Retired Assistant Professors without Ph.D., for PG/UG courses) | Rs. 750/- per class (Max. 60 classes/month – Rs. 45,000/- max) |
If less than prescribed classes are undertaken, honorarium is paid proportionately or the shortfall is adjusted against the next month's workload. No other allowances or financial benefits are admissible.
Tenure of Engagement
- Maximum period of 1 year at a time or till the vacancy is filled up in regular manner, whichever is earlier.
- Continuation is subject to satisfactory performance during the quarterly review.
- Engagement is purely temporary; no regular/contractual/ad-hoc appointment under this arrangement.
- Retired faculties may continue teaching till they attain 70 years of age, subject to periodical review.
