UIIC invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for 225 posts of Administrative Officer (Scale I) from the open market. Vacancies are substantially in the Western and Southern zones (minimum 5-year initial posting; transferable anywhere in India).

Eligibility (as on 30.06.2026)
- Generalists: Graduate / PG degree in any discipline (Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture, Data Science, etc.) with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) in either degree; working knowledge of computers is a must.
- Hindi Officers: Master's degree in Hindi with English as compulsory/elective/medium at degree level, or Master's in English with Hindi as compulsory/elective/medium, or Master's in any other subject with the prescribed Hindi/English medium-and-subject combinations — with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
- Qualification must be complete by 30.06.2026 (10+2+3 pattern, UGC/AICTE-recognised).
- Age 21–30 years as on 30.06.2026 (born 30.06.1996–30.06.2005). Relaxation: SC/ST +5, OBC +3, PwBD +10, Ex-Servicemen +5, disabled-in-operations +3, widows/divorced +9, confirmed PSGIC employees +8 (cumulative cap 45).
Fee & dates
- Fee (non-refundable, +GST): Rs.1,000 for all except SC/ST/PwBD/UIIC employees; Rs.250 service charges for SC/ST/PwBD/UIIC employees.
- Online registration: 08.09.2026 to 28.09.2026 (fee also till 28.09). Prelims 22.10.2026 (tentative); Mains 30.11.2026 (tentative).
Selection
- Prelims (100 marks, 1 hr): English 30, Reasoning 35, Quant 35 — sectional timing, sectional + overall cutoffs.
- Mains – Generalists (objective 250 + descriptive 30): English 50, Reasoning 60, Quant 60, GA (financial sector) 60, Computer 20; descriptive English letter (10) + essay (20), typed online.
- Mains – Hindi Officers (objective 200 + descriptive 50): English 25, Reasoning 25, Professional Knowledge (Hindi/English grammar, OL Acts/Rules, translation) 100, GA 25, Computers 25; descriptive essays, Hindi letter and both-way translation (Inscript/Remington keyboard).
- 1/4th negative marking in objective tests. Interview up to 3x vacancies; final merit 75:25 (Mains objective + interview for Generalists; Mains objective + descriptive + interview for Hindi). Prelims not counted.
Service terms
- Probation 1 year (extendable); confirmation needs the Insurance Institute of India Licentiate exam.
- 5-year service bond including probation (liquidated damages up to one year's gross salary + Rs.35,000 onboarding cost).
- Pay scale Rs.82,485–4,050(14)–1,39,185–4,390(4)–1,56,745; gross about Rs.1,10,000/month at metros + gratuity, LTS, medical, GPA insurance, NPS, leased accommodation. Posts are permanent.
