- Indian citizens; upper age limit as on 28 October 2026: Assistant General Manager 50 years, Manager 40 years, Deputy Manager 35 years
- Age relaxation of 5 years for SC candidates for posts reserved for them; ex-servicemen get 10 years (Manager/Deputy Manager) and 5 years (AGM), subject to overall caps of 45/50/55 years
- Selection: work experience 40 marks, PowerPoint presentation on work experience 30 marks, group discussion 10 marks and personal interview 20 marks (total 100)
- Shortlisted candidates must make a presentation of not more than ten minutes on their work experience
- Appointment is on regular roll; selected candidates will be placed at the minimum of the pay scale without pay protection
- Posting is at the UCSL Malpe unit/project sites, with an obligation to serve in any department, onboard ships or at units/work sites in India or abroad
- Candidates in PSU/Government regular cadre need one year of experience in the immediate lower scale; private/contract candidates must draw CTC/basic pay comparable to the lower scale
- PwBD candidates are not included as UCSL is engaged in hazardous operations

- AGM (Design): degree in Mechanical/Naval Architecture/Production Engineering with 60% marks and 15 years managerial experience in hull/machinery outfit/hull outfit design
- Manager (Hull): degree in Mechanical/Naval Architecture/Production Engineering with 9 years managerial experience, or 3-year Diploma in Mechanical/Marine/Shipbuilding Engineering with 12 years, in hull/outfitting/heavy fabrication/erection
- Deputy Manager (Quality Control): degree in Mechanical/Marine/Naval Architecture with 7 years, or 3-year Diploma with 10 years, plus NDT Level 2 or ASNT Level 2 certification, in QC of outfitting/machinery/piping/structural outfit
- Deputy Manager (Electrical Design): degree in Electrical/Electronics/Electrical & Electronics/Electrical & Instrumentation/Electronics & Communication with 7 years, or 3-year Diploma with 10 years, in electrical design using AutoCAD/Tribon/Aveva/CADMATIC
