Note: As per G.O.Ms.No.86, G.A.(Ser.A) Department, Dt. 18/05/2026, the upper age limit is raised from 34 years to 44 years.

Educational Qualifications

The applicant must possess:

• Basic Degree: B.Sc. (Agriculture) from a University recognized by ICAR.
• Post Graduation: M.Sc. (Ag.) in Seed Technology / Plant Breeding / Agronomy / Plant Physiology from any University recognized by ICAR.

Note: The result of requisite educational qualification must have been declared by the concerned University as on the date of notification (02/07/2026). Distance Education degrees must be recognised by UGC / AICTE / Distance Education Bureau.

Age Limit (as on 01/07/2026)

Minimum: 18 years (not born after 01/07/2008)

Maximum: 44 years (not born before 02/07/1982)

Examination Fee Exemption: All unemployed applicants are exempted. Employees of Government/PSUs/Corporations shall pay the prescribed examination fee.

• Historical developments in Agriculture; Agro-climatic zones of India and Telangana.

Genetics and Plant Breeding

• Cell biology, DNA structure and function, Gene action, Genetic code, Cell cycle and division.
• History and objectives of plant breeding; Centres of Origin, biodiversity.
• Genetic basis of breeding self- and cross-pollinated crops; Heritability and genetic advance.
• Types of gene actions; Origin and botany of cereals, pulses, oilseeds, fibre, sugar crops, fodders.
• Pure line, pedigree, mass selection, backcross, recurrent selection, clonal selection.

Agriculture Statistics and Computing

• Measures of central tendency and dispersion; Probability, correlation, regression.
• Tests of significance, t-test, F-test, Chi-square test; ANOVA; Design of Experiments – CRD, RBD, LSD.
• Sampling techniques; Computer fundamentals – MS Office, database, internet applications.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination (Objective Type): CBRT / OMR based – 300 marks.
2. Qualifying Marks: OC, Sportspersons & EWS – 40%; BCs – 35%; SCs, STs & PHs – 30%.
3. Candidates selected in order of merit against available vacancies.
4. Appearance in all papers is compulsory.

Local Reservation

This is a State Level post. Local reservation is not applicable. Selection shall be made on statewide merit.
