Qualification

English Composition (Subjective, 30 marks): Essay (150 words) – 10 marks; Letter – 5 marks; Precis – 5 marks; Translation from Punjabi to English – 10 marks.
Negative marking: 1/4 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer in multiple choice questions. Questions not attempted will receive no credit or discredit.
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): After the written examination (CBT), candidates will be called for a Computer Proficiency Test to assess proficiency in operation of computers. This test is mandatory but qualifying only – its marks are not counted in determining final merit. It comprises: Part-I – Spreadsheet Test of 10 marks / 10 minutes, requiring 40% or more (i.e. 4 or more marks); Part-II – Computer Typing Test in English at a speed of 30 W.P.M. (Part-II is checked only for those who secure 4 or more marks in Part-I).
Important Notes
- The number of vacancies may be increased or decreased without notice.
- Relaxation in age, fee concession and reservation is available to residents of Punjab only; applicants of reserved categories of other states must apply under UR/General.
- Reservation is regulated as per the Punjab Subordinate Court Establishment (Recruitment and General Conditions of Service) Rules, 1997.
- Applicants who are in service must obtain a No Objection Certificate from their Head of Office/Department; candidature will be cancelled if it is not produced when called for.
- Personal law regarding marriage applies – a person married to a person having a spouse living, or having a spouse living and contracted a second marriage, is not eligible, subject to exemption by the Hon'ble High Court.
- Applicants opting “Others” in the Gender column must hold a certificate of identity issued by the District Magistrate under the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019.
- Merit will be prepared on the basis of normalized marks in the objective portion of the written examination (CBT).
