The examination carries approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies for LDC/JSA and DEO posts combined. SSC CHSL 2026 – Nationality
A candidate must be either a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal / Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01.01.1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, etc. with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates in the latter categories require an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

SSC CHSL 2026 – Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026)
18 to 27 years. Candidates born not before 02 August 1999 and not later than 01 August 2008 are eligible. Age relaxation is available as per Government norms:

SSC CHSL 2026 – Selection Process
Selection is through a Computer Based Examination conducted in two tiers.
Tier-I (Objective, Multiple Choice Only)

Tier-I consists of 100 questions for 200 marks, total duration 60 minutes, with negative marking of 0.50 marks per wrong answer.
Tier-II (Conducted in Two Sessions on the Same Day)
Tier-II comprises four sections: Section-I (Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning & General Intelligence), Section-II (English Language & Comprehension and General Awareness), Section-III (Computer Knowledge Test – qualifying in nature) and Section-IV (Skill Test / Typing Test for DEO / LDC-JSA posts respectively). Sections III & IV are conducted in the second session. It is mandatory to qualify in all sections of Tier-II. There is negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer in Sections I and II. This is followed by Document Verification as applicable.
SSC CHSL 2026 – How to Apply
- Visit the official SSC website https://ssc.gov.in or the “mySSC” mobile application.
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website – OTR generated on the earlier website will not work.
- Log in and fill the SSC CHSL 2026 online application form.
- Opt for Aadhaar-based authentication during OTR, if desired, to simplify photo/ID requirements at the examination venue.
- Upload the required documents and capture your photograph as per the instructions in the application module.
- Pay the application fee online (if applicable) before 08 October 2026.
- Submit the form and keep a printout of the final submitted application for records.
SSC CHSL 2026 – Important Instructions
- Applications must be submitted only in online mode; offline applications are not accepted.
- Candidates can select up to three examination centres in order of priority.
- Fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other examination.
- The correction window (14–16 October 2026) allows a maximum of two modifications/re-submissions to the application; only applications with fee received (or fee-exempted) are eligible for correction.
- Applications remaining “Incomplete” due to non-receipt of fee will be summarily rejected.
- The Tier-I and Tier-II examination schedules will be announced separately on the SSC website.
