State Bank of India – Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) Recruitment 2026

State Bank of India, Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, Corporate Centre, Mumbai (Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17, dated 11.08.2026) invites applications from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in clerical cadre.

Vacancy Summary

Total Vacancies: 9124 (Regular: 7680 | Backlog: 1444)

Candidates may apply for vacancies in one State/UT only. Merit list will be drawn State/UT wise, category wise. No Inter Circle Transfer / Inter State Transfer before completion of 5 years of service.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit (as on 01.04.2026): Not below 20 years and not above 28 years (born not earlier than 02.04.1998 and not later than 01.04.2006). Relaxation: OBC 3 yrs, SC/ST 5 yrs, PwBD (Gen/EWS) 10 yrs, PwBD (OBC) 13 yrs, PwBD (SC/ST) 15 yrs, Ex-Servicemen actual service + 3 yrs (8 yrs for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) max 50 yrs, Widows/Divorced women 7 yrs (max 35 yrs).
• Educational Qualification (as on 31.12.2026): Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised by Central Government. Candidates in final year/semester may apply provisionally. Matriculate Ex-servicemen with Indian Army Special Certificate of Education (or Navy/Air Force equivalent) after 15 years of service are also eligible.
• Local Language: Candidates must be proficient in the specified opted local language of the State/UT applied for. Those who have studied the language in 10th or 12th standard are exempt from the language test.

Selection Procedure

Phase I – Preliminary Examination (Online, ~September 2026): 100 marks, 1 hour. English Language (30 q, 20 min), Numerical Ability (35 q, 20 min), Reasoning Ability (35 q, 20 min). Negative marking: 1/4th mark deducted per wrong answer. ~10 times vacancies shortlisted for Main Exam.

Phase II – Main Examination (Online, ~November 2026): 200 marks, 2 hr 40 min. General/Financial Awareness (50 q, 35 min), General English (40 q, 35 min), Quantitative Aptitude (50 q, 45 min), Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude (50 q, 45 min). Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS).

Phase III – Local Language Proficiency Test: For candidates not having studied the local language in 10th/12th. Non-Verbal (15 marks) + Verbal (20 marks). Minimum qualifying marks required (5% relaxation for reserved categories).

Trained Apprentice Bonus: SBI trained apprentices (engagement start on/after 01.01.2022, completed 1 year branch experience on/before 31.08.2026) get 5 marks bonus (2.5% of 200) in Main Exam aggregate.

Pay Scale & Emoluments

Pay Scale: Rs.24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480

Starting Basic Pay: Rs.26,730/- (Rs.24,050 + two advance increments for graduates)

Starting Emoluments (Metro like Mumbai): Around Rs.46,000/- per month inclusive of D.A., other allowances and two additional increments for graduate junior associates.

Eligible for PF, Pension under New Pension Scheme, Medical, Leave-Fare and other perquisites.

Probation Period

Minimum 6 months. Required to complete e-lessons during probation for confirmation. Performance may be evaluated before probation ends; unsatisfactory performance may extend probation.
