SBI Clerk Special Backlog Drive 2026 – 1538 Posts

State Bank of India (SBI) has published a Special Recruitment Drive notification (Advt No. CRPD/CR/SPLDRIVE/2026-27/16) for the recruitment of 1538 posts of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) against SC/ST/OBC Backlog Vacancies. Graduates from a recognised University can apply online by 27/08/2026.

Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit (as on 01.04.2026): 20 to 28 years (born between 02.04.1998 and 01.04.2006).
• Age Relaxation: OBC 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, PwBD (OBC) 13 years, PwBD (SC/ST) 15 years, Ex-Servicemen actual service + 3 years (max 50 years), Widows/Divorced Women 7 years.
• Special Drive: This recruitment is specifically for SC/ST/OBC Backlog Vacancies.
• State Restriction: Candidates can apply for vacancies in ONE State/UT only and appear for the test only once.
• Local Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in the local language of the State/UT applied for; language test conducted after Main Exam.
• OBC Non-Creamy Layer: OBC certificate must be issued on or after 01.04.2026.
• Ineligibility: Candidates currently working in SBI in Clerical cadre or who previously resigned from SBI in clerical cadre are NOT eligible.

Selection Procedure

• Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online): 100 marks, 1 hour. English Language 30Q/30M/20min, Numerical Ability 35Q/35M/20min, Reasoning Ability 35Q/35M/20min. Negative marking 1/4th. ~10 times vacancies shortlisted for Main.
• Phase-II: Main Examination (Online): General/Financial Awareness 50Q/50M, General English 40Q/40M, Quantitative Aptitude 50Q/50M, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude 50Q/60M. Total 190Q/200M/2h40m. Negative marking 1/4th.
• Trained SBI Apprentices get bonus marks of 2.5% of maximum marks (5 out of 200) added to aggregate.
• Phase-III: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Non-Verbal Test (3 passages, 15 objective + 15 subjective) and Verbal Test (20 marks).
• Final Selection: Based on aggregate marks in Main Examination only; merit list drawn State-wise and Category-wise.

2. Click on 'Special Recruitment Drive for Junior Associates 2026'.
3. Keep ready your photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression and handwritten declaration as per specifications.
4. Fill the Online Application Form carefully with all required details.
5. Upload the scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration.
6. Pay the application fee online (Rs. 750/- for OBC; Nil for SC/ST/PwBD/XS/DXS).
7. Submit the form and take a printout of the system-generated application form. Corrections not allowed after final submission.

Other Important Information

• No Inter-Circle/Inter-State transfer for Junior Associates; intra-state transfer permitted only between Delhi Circle & Lucknow Circle and Mumbai Metro & Maharashtra Circle.
• Probation period: Minimum 6 months.
• Total starting emoluments at Metro (Mumbai) approx. Rs. 46,000/- per month including DA and allowances.
• PwBD: Scribe facility and compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour available.
