Selection Process

- Computer Based Test (CBT): Separate CBT for each Pay Level (Level-5 for Grade I Signal, Level-2 for Grade-III). 90 minutes, 100 questions. Negative marking: 1/3rd per wrong answer. Normalization for multiple shifts. Min qualifying: UR/EWS 40%, OBC 30%, SC 30%, ST 25% (relaxable by 2 marks for PwBD). +
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted at 1:1 ratio of vacancies. Tie-breaker: older candidate preferred; if same age, alphabetical order of name. +
- Medical Examination (ME): As per medical standards A3, B1, B2, C1 (applicable to post). LASIK surgery candidates not eligible for A3 posts. +
- Final Allotment: Post/Railway/Unit allotted based on options, merit, reservation, and vacancy position. +
