Regional News Unit (RNU), Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati (Prasar Bharati, Broadcasting Corporation of India) invites applications from interested candidates of Indian origin residing in Assam for empanelment as Casual Assignees in 7 categories. Notification No. RNU/GUW/CE/26-27 dated 24/08/2026.

Eligibility (Category-wise)
- Casual News Reader / News Anchor: Degree from a recognized university; proficiency in the concerned language; camera-friendly personality with good broadcasting voice; correct pronunciation/accent/modulation; knowledge of current regional/Indian/foreign affairs. Journalism background preferable.
- Assistant News Editor: Degree + Degree/Diploma in Journalism + minimum 3 years' experience of news broadcasting/news organization work.
- Assistant Website Editor: Degree + Degree/Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication; 2 years' experience in the relevant field desirable.
- Broadcast Assistant: Degree + Degree/Diploma in TV & Radio production.
- Video Editor: 10+2 pass + Degree/Diploma in Film & Video Editing + 2 years' experience in the relevant field.
- CG Operator: 10+2 pass + Certificate in Computer application.
- Stenographer (Assamese): 10+2 pass + shorthand speed 80 w.p.m. and typing speed 40 w.p.m.
Important Points
- Empanelment as Casual Assignee does not constitute a regular post and carries no claim for regular/permanent employment.
- Selected candidates may be assigned a maximum of 7 assignments per month.
- No application fee is payable.
- Applications without required enclosures will be summarily rejected; canvassing in any form leads to rejection.
