Position Details

• Number of Positions: 01
• Upper Age Limit: 65 years (maximum) as on closing date of advertisement
• Eligibility (retired personnel only): Person retired from a DPSU at pay scale E-8/E-9 or equivalent Central Government Pay Level 13/14 and above; OR Professors/Scientists retired from IITs, CSIR, DRDO, ISRO etc.; OR any other officer retired from analogous posts of Central Government at Pay Level 13/14 and above. Clear vigilance/disciplinary record at the time of retirement (prescribed declaration/undertaking essential). Only Indian Nationals are eligible.
• Qualification: Essential - Graduate degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute (full-time regular courses only; recognized by AICTE/UGC). Desirable - Master's or higher degree in Engineering/Technology.
• Experience: Substantial experience in Defence Establishment, R&D, technology development, engineering/product development, project management, manufacturing/production technology, indigenization/value engineering, technology transfer, academic/research collaboration or allied technical domains in DPSUs, DRDO or comparable organizations. Preference to candidates with experience of defence R&D; collaboration with IITs/IISc; sponsored research management; technology development, prototyping and transfer; coordination with DRDO, iDEX, Armed Forces and government agencies.
• Remuneration: Fixed monthly amount arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement; unchanged for the term of engagement. No HRA. Fixed flat-rate transport allowance. TA/DA on official tour as per entitlement at retirement. No annual increment/DA during the contract period.
• Tenure: 01 year from the date of assumption of charge; extension on year-to-year basis subject to satisfactory performance, continuing DCC requirement and competent-authority approval, within the overall ceiling of 05 years or 67 years of age, whichever is less.
• Job Purpose: The DCC shall function from IIT Roorkee as per DDP guidelines to facilitate long-term institutional research collaboration between DPSUs and IIT Roorkee - leading and monitoring IOL-IIT Roorkee projects, coordinating with faculty/PIs/researchers, product improvement/new product development, value engineering, indigenization, obsolescence management, cost/quality improvement and relevant technology research; regular presence in person at IIT Roorkee required.
