Vacancy Details

Pay Scale

• Pay Band-4: Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 with Grade Pay Rs. 10,000/- (Level-14 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC).

Mode of Appointment

• Deputation (including Short Term Contract): Officers of Central/State Governments, Union Territories, PSUs, Universities, recognised Research Institutions or Statutory/Autonomous organisations.
• Contract: Persons possessing the required educational qualifications and experience.

Eligibility

Officers under consideration should either:

• (i) hold analogous posts on regular basis in parent cadre/department; OR
• (ii) have three years of service in Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37,400 – 67,000) + Grade Pay Rs. 8,700 (Level-13) in parent cadre/department; AND
• Possess Master's degree in Chemical/Physical/Biological/Environmental/Earth Sciences OR B.E./B.Tech with specialisation in Metallurgy or Material Science from a recognized University; AND
• Have fifteen years of experience in practical/research/teaching in conservation of cultural property; AND
• Have experience of conducting and guiding research in conservation of antiques and art objects.

Age Limit

• Maximum 56 years (deputation) / 67 years (contract) as on the closing date.

Desirable Qualifications

• Doctorate in Conservation of Cultural Property.
• Knowledge of editing/publishing technical journals; experience in conservation laboratories; knowledge of foreign languages (French, Italian, German, Russian).
• Post-graduate Diploma/Degree in Management.
