Applications are invited for the selection of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the ANRF sponsored project Land-atmosphere coupling and their impact on compound extremes at the Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Warangal. Last date to apply: 17 September 2026.

Project Details
The project aims to investigate the role of land-atmosphere coupling in driving compound extreme events, examine its spatiotemporal variability across diverse climatic regions and seasons to identify hotspots, and evaluate how land use and land cover changes influence coupling strength and the occurrence of compound extremes.
Essential Qualification
- B.Tech/B.E in Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering or Equivalent degree AND M.Tech/M.E in a relevant Civil Engineering specialization; with minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD). GATE is not mandatory. OR
- B.Tech/B.E in Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering or Equivalent degree with at least CGPA of 7.5/10 or 70% marks (7.0/10 or 65% for SC/ST/PwD). GATE is not mandatory.
Desirable Experience
- GATE qualification; prior knowledge of Hydrological Modelling; programming skills in R/Python/MATLAB; good analytical ability and writing skills.
