Applications are invited from Indian citizens with an excellent academic background for contractual appointment of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the sponsored research project “Design and Development of an Affordable Edge AI-Powered Robotic Therapeutic Intervention System for Motor-Impaired Patients” in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Rourkela. The position is purely temporary/contractual and co-terminus with the completion of the project.

Essential Qualification
M.Tech/M.E./M.Tech[R]/M.S.[R] (after B.Tech/B.E.) in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)/IT/Equivalent with GATE/NET score; or B.Tech (AI and ML) with 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA at both B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech levels; or B.Tech/B.E. in CSE/IT with GATE score in CS/IT/AI & DS and CGPA above 7.0/10 or marks above 65%; or M.Sc (with GATE/NET) or MCA (with GATE/NET) in Computer Science/IT/Equivalent with CGPA 6.5/60%.
Desirable Qualification
- Adequate knowledge in AI/ML and efficiency in developing software with programming languages such as Python and Java.
- Sound knowledge in Mathematics.
- Machine Learning & Data Analysis and C++/Python programming.
- The JRF candidate may be eligible for Ph.D. enrolment subject to fulfilment of the Institute regulations.
Scope of Work
Develop an edge-AI-enabled neuro-robotic rehabilitation system for motor intent detection and personalized therapy; prototype for clinical and home-based use with real-world validation through hospital collaborations.
