NIT Kurukshetra - Advt. No. 27/2026 - Engagement of Adjunct Faculty (Rolling Advertisement)

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra invites applications from Indian nationals with an excellent academic record and a commitment to quality teaching and research for the engagement of Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Chemistry (specialisations: Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry) through a rolling advertisement.

There is no last date. Applications are received throughout the year and processed periodically. The last date of submission of the application form for the third round of the rolling advertisement was 31.08.2026 up to 05:30 p.m.; applications received after that date will be considered for the next round.

Who Can Apply

Serving and retired scientists, engineers, physicians, professionals, academicians, practitioners (advocates, artists, bankers, etc.), policymakers in teaching/training/research, officials and managers having experience of working in:

1. reputed industries;
2. Central/State Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs);
3. R&D organisations and academic institutions of the Central/State Government;
4. civil services (IAS/IPS/officials of the Central/State Government) and professionals and officials from professional councils and statutory bodies;
5. reputed overseas academic, research and industrial organisations, with a demonstrated interest in Indian issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• The candidate must be an accomplished professional in his/her chosen field, comparable to at least the top one third of the regular faculty in professional expertise and reputation.
• The association must add value to the academic programmes, students, department or institute.
• Normally at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field is desirable; however, in emerging and cutting-edge technologies, candidates with more than 5 years of experience may also be considered.
• For a candidate from industry or a research organisation, the domain knowledge should be of significant value. A postgraduate or Ph.D. degree may not be an essential qualification in that case.
• The Industry/Research experience should be in Government or a Public Enterprise or a National Laboratory. Experience in private industry will be considered provided the company is incorporated under the Indian Companies Act, 1956.

2. Submit separate applications for each post, department and discipline.
3. Mention the post applied for, department and discipline on the left-top corner of the envelope.
4. Send the application form with the annexure sheets, complete in all respects, along with self-attested photocopies of certificates to "The Registrar, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra-136119 (Haryana)".
5. Applications received after the third-round deadline will be considered for the next round.

General Conditions

• Eligibility, qualifications and experience are determined as on the last date of receipt of applications, i.e. 31.08.2026 for the third phase.
• Candidates employed in Government/Autonomous Bodies/PSU service should send their applications through proper channel. If the original application is likely to be delayed, a photocopy should be sent in advance so as to reach before the prescribed last date; a No Objection Certificate has to be produced at the time of interview.
• All educational qualifications and degree certificates must be from recognised universities/institutes.
• The number and nature of posts may vary at the time of selection. The Institute reserves the right not to fill any post.
• Short-listing criteria may be higher than those advertised, and the Institute may restrict the number of candidates called for interview to a reasonable limit.
• Candidates will have to appear for the presentation and interview at their own cost. The date and place will be notified separately. Original documents must be produced at the time of interview for verification.
• The engagement is subject to being found physically fit and sound in health through a medical examination by the Institute's medical board/officer, which may be undertaken before joining.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification. The Institute may reject any or all applications without assigning any reason.
• Any dispute regarding the recruitment will fall under the jurisdiction of District Kurukshetra.
