NIT Manipur Rolling Advertisement 2026 – Visiting Faculty / Adjunct Faculty / Professor of Practice

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, invites applications from distinguished professors / practitioners / professional experts in the fields of Engineering, Science, Management and Humanities for various positions of Visiting Faculty, Adjunct Faculty and Professor of Practice.

This is a standing advertisement and applications received will be scrutinized quarterly in each year.

Available Departments

Remuneration – Professor of Practice

Initially appointment is for one year and renewed by one more year based on progress.

Remuneration – Adjunct and Visiting Faculty

Eligibility / Qualification

• PhD / Post graduate / Graduate in the respective field and possessing one of the degrees from the Centrally Funded Institution (CFIs) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Experience

• 10 / 12 / 15 years after PhD / Post graduate / Graduate degree.
• 3 years in very senior positions like GM / Director / Tech Head / R&D Head / Project Head from any one of the top reputed organizations / top 100 Corporates / ISRO / DRDO / National Research Labs (Scientist F level or above).

Desirable Exposure / Work Experience

• Product design and development / Project R&D / Patent products / New application of materials or process etc.
• Guided internships / student projects.
• Taught at any CFIs for at least one year / offered a full course at UG/PG level at any of the CFIs.
• Work experience from world class universities / top rated research institutions, national labs or fellows of prestigious academies.
• Research publications in SCI / WoS journals / Patents granted / Technology Transfer executed.
• Collaboration with funding agencies / research labs of global organizations / universities / consultancy works leading to revenue generation etc.
• Exposure in Start-ups / unicorns.

General Instructions

• Mere fulfilment of minimum qualification and experience requirements does not entitle the candidates for the post.
• The Institute reserves the right to reject any or all application without assigning any reason.
• Eligibility, qualification and experience shall be governed by the guidelines issued by the MoE from time to time.
• Any misleading or wrong information may lead to summarily rejection of application.
• Canvasing in any form by or on behalf of a candidate will be disqualified.
• The Institution reserves the right to fill or not to fill any of the posts advertised.
• Persons working in Government / University / Public Sector must apply through proper channel.
• Apart from merit, specialization, research contribution, consultancy, sponsored research projects, patents, expertise in new product development and recent advances in technology will play a vital role in selection.
• Candidates from industry having experience in providing internship and exposure to teaching, research guiding in reputed institution will be given preference.
• Upper age limit: 70 years.

2. Submit the duly completed prescribed Application Form (in A-4 size paper) along with all supporting documents, annexure, duly self-attested in hard copy through speed post / registered / hand post to:

3. The envelope must be inscribed as “Application for the post of ………………… Dept …………………” (please fill in name of post applied and Name of Department).
4. The scanned copy of the application form along with supporting documents must be sent to email: recruit_faculty@nitmanipur.ac.in.
5. Persons employed on regular employment in Government and Semi-Government Organizations, Public Sector, Autonomous bodies of Govt. of India or State Government must apply through proper channel with a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
