Where the notified qualification is a First Class Degree/Diploma but the certificate/marksheet does not mention First Class or Division, the candidate must have secured at least 6.5 CGPA (10-point scale) or 60% marks in aggregate. Only the primary mode of evaluation (CGPA or percentage) mentioned in the certificate is considered; conversion from CGPA to percentage or vice versa is not allowed. Lower age limit for all posts: 18 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-servicemen/departmental candidates as per Government of India norms. Departmental candidates serving in State/Central Government/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies/Universities on regular employment who have completed a minimum of 3 years’ continuous service are eligible for 5 years’ age relaxation, subject to NOC at Document Verification. A one-time age relaxation up to 56 years is granted to non-teaching staff working on ad-hoc/temporary/contractual/outsource basis at NIT Agartala. Selection Process
As per DoPT guidelines, no interview is conducted for Group ‘B’ or Group ‘C’ posts. Selection for all advertised posts is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) only, and the final merit list is prepared solely on the marks obtained in the CBT, subject to qualifying the prescribed skill test(s) wherever applicable.

Part I (English, GK & Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability) is common across posts that have a Part I/Part II structure. Tie-breaking: (a) more marks in Part A; (b) earlier Date of Birth; (c) residual tie at Institute discretion. Candidates using a scribe (visually impaired or permanently affected writing speed) get 20 minutes compensatory time per hour of exam.

- Review and submit the application, then download and keep a printout of the confirmed application and fee receipt for reference.
Applications must be submitted online only through the Institute website; offline/physical applications will not be accepted.
Important Conditions
- Advt. technically valid only for candidates meeting the prescribed age and qualification as on the closing date of online application.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the recruitment test or document verification.
- Original documents plus one set of self-attested copies must be produced at document verification, failing which candidature is rejected outright.
- Persons serving in Government/Semi-Govt./PSUs/Universities must bring a No Objection Certificate from their employer at Document Verification.
- Selected candidates will be under probation for one year, subject to satisfactory completion as per NIT Statutes.
- Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification; misconduct/unfair means in the exam hall can lead to cancellation or debarment.
- Legal disputes, if any, are to be dealt with in the jurisdiction of the Tripura High Court only.
