The Department of Rural Development (Training Division), Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India invites applications in the prescribed format for the post of Registrar & Director (Administration) in the National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad, on a deputation basis. Eligibility and Experience

• Essential: holding an analogous post, that is, in the scale of Rs.37,400-67,000 (PB-4) with grade pay of Rs.8,700; or having five years' experience in the scale of Rs.15,600-39,100 with grade pay of Rs.7,600 (PB-3).
• Experience: at least five years' working experience in a Group 'A' service in personnel and administrative matters.
• Desirable: working experience of academic or training institutions in the field of rural development policy and programmes; a degree in Law.

Duties and Responsibilities

• In-charge of the Administration Branch of the Institute and responsible for general administration and assistance to the Deputy Director General in administrative matters and arrangements such as seminars, conferences, training programmes and study tours.
• Assist the Deputy Director General in matters relating to the Executive Council, General Council, Standing Committees and Parliament-related work.
• Responsible for the maintenance and deployment of the Institute's vehicles and for the procurement of stores.
• Controlling Officer and Disciplinary Authority for certain categories of staff.
• Warden of the Guest Houses and Welfare Officer of the campus.
• Declared a Faculty Member in terms of DoPT OM No. 13024/1/2008-Trg.1 dated 05.09.2008, required to take part in academic activities, and entitled to 30% of basic pay as training allowance.

Other Conditions

• The period of deputation, including a short-term contract and any deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately before this appointment, shall ordinarily not exceed three years.
• The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation is 56 years on the closing date for receipt of applications.
• Cooling-off and other conditions apply as per Government of India rules; the Appointing Authority is the Executive Council of NIRD&PR.
• A person who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a living spouse, or who having a living spouse has contracted such a marriage, is not eligible, subject to the exemptions available under the rules.
