National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru is conducting a Walk-in Selection for the post of Junior Research Fellow (Neuroimaging) on a contract basis for the project "India ENIGMA Initiative for Global Ageing & Mental Health" funded by NIH-USA, under Dr. John P. John, Professor of Psychiatry & Principal Investigator, NIMHANS (Notification No. NIMH/PROJ/NIH-USA/JRF(N)/01577/C8/C17/NOTIF/2026-2027, dated 31.07.2026).

Essential Qualification

• Post Graduate Degree in Life/Basic Sciences/Neurosciences/Neuropsychology OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course.
• Experience in neuroimaging research, including analysis of structural, functional, or diffusion MRI data; experience using standard neuroimaging pipelines; programming skills in Python, MATLAB, R, bash scripting or equivalent.
• Desirable: hands-on MRI data preprocessing/analysis, diffusion MRI analyses, machine learning, computational neuroscience.

Walk-in Details

Date & time: 19/08/2026 at 10:00 AM. Venue: Board Room and Exam Hall, 4th Floor, NBRC Building, NIMHANS, Bengaluru - 560 029. Candidates should report 30 minutes before the scheduled time. No TA/DA will be paid. Duration of post: 6 months contractual, extension contingent on performance.

How to Apply

2. Candidates working in projects at NIMHANS must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Principal Investigator.
3. The candidate should score a minimum of 50% in the written examination (if conducted) to qualify for the skill test/interview.
