NIMHANS Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 2026 – DBT-BIRAC Project
National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on contract basis for the DBT-BIRAC funded project "Establishing 2D and 3D in-vitro Parkinson's disease Models from Indian Ethnicity PD Patient-derived hiPSCs for Drug Discovery" under the guidance of Dr. Indrani Datta, Professor & Head of Biophysics & PI, NIMHANS Bangalore-560029, as per Notification No. NIMH/PROJ/DBT-BIRAC/JRF/02113/C1-C16/NOTIF/2026-2027.

Essential Qualification
- M.Sc in Life Science / Regenerative Medicine / Biotechnology / Physiology / Biophysics / Biochemistry with a good academic record
- Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, preferably pluripotent stem cells, SDS-PAGE, Western blot and PCR
Additional Experience
- Candidates with basic knowledge of biochemistry and molecular biology techniques
Nature of Work
- Culture induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
- Differentiate iPSCs into dopaminergic neurons & midbrain organoids
- Perform Confocal imaging, Flow cytometry, and multi-electrode array (MEA) recordings for midbrain organoids
Emoluments / Salary
Rs. 37,000/- consolidated per month
Age Limit
Maximum 28 years.
