Indian Army invites online applications from unmarried women engineering graduates for 68th Short Service Commission (Technical) Women Course commencing in Apr 2027 at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya.

Vacancy Summary

Eligibility

• Age: 20–27 years as on 01 Apr 2027 (born between 01 Apr 2000 and 31 Mar 2007). Widows: up to 35 years.
• Gender: Unmarried Women only. Widows of Defence Personnel who died in harness (not remarried) also eligible.
• Qualification: BE/B.Tech in a notified engineering stream. Final-year students can apply provisionally, but must submit proof of passing by 01 Apr 2027.
• Physical Standards: 2.4 km run in 13 min, 15 push-ups, 2 pull-ups, 25 sit-ups, squats/lunges, swimming fundamentals.

Pay & Allowances

• Stipend during training: Rs. 56,100 per month
• Rank on commission: Lieutenant (Pay Level-10: Rs. 56,100–1,77,500)
• CTC: Approx. Rs. 17–18 lakh per annum (excluding free medical & travel)
• Military Service Pay: Rs. 15,500 per month (fixed) from Lt to Brigadier
• Other benefits: DA, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Hostel Subsidy, Dress Allowance, Ration in Kind, AGIF cover of Rs. 1.25 Cr, and field area allowances as applicable
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Military Studies & Defence Management awarded by Magadh University after training

Selection Process

• Shortlisting: Based on cumulative percentage of marks in engineering degree (stream-wise cut-off)
• SSB Interview (5 days): Two-stage selection at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar. Stage 1 (screening) — candidates who clear proceed to Stage 2
• Medical Examination: By Special Medical Board (SMB)
• Merit List: Stream-wise based on SSB marks. Medical fitness + merit determines final selection

Service Terms

• Commission: Short Service Commission (SSC) — 10 years, extendable up to 14 years
• Option for Permanent Commission: Considered in 10th year of service
• Release: Can apply for release after 5 years (deserving cases)
• Training: 49 weeks at OTA Gaya. Marriage not permitted during training
• Liability: Can be posted anywhere in India or abroad in any Arm/Service

6. Carry self-attested copies + originals of all documents to SSB centre

Note: Widows of Defence Personnel must apply OFFLINE directly to Dte Gen of Rtg, New Delhi by 21 Aug 2026 with the required documents.
