- Preliminary written exam of 100 marks in 2 hours with no negative marking - screening only for about 10 times candidates
- Main written exam - two common papers of 300 marks each with one-third negative plus one 300-mark technical paper for technical posts
- Physical Efficiency Test of 100 marks (800 m run, long jump, shot put)
- Document Verification, personality interview of 50 marks and medical examination
