Nature of Duties
The Consultant will handle duties related to active consular cases, part of which are subjudice, including: coordination with law enforcement agencies and liaisoning among stakeholders related to legal/consular cases; acting as a single window for all court cases pertaining to the Eurasia Division; receiving and compiling court notices/summons/petitions/orders; assisting in providing replies to court cases; sharing court notices with concerned sections/divisions and Missions/Posts abroad; preparing draft affidavits in consultation with Central Government Standing Counsels/Law Officers; maintaining a status report of ongoing court cases and tracking hearing dates; and any other tasks assigned by the Head of the Division.

Selection Procedure
The Ministry of External Affairs will review the applications and shortlist candidates for an interview/written test. The shortlisted candidates will be intimated by email. The date, time and venue of the interview will be conveyed through email. Applicants will have to make their own arrangements to reach the place of interview; no TA/DA will be payable by the Ministry for attending the interview. The decision of the Government regarding selection of the candidate will be final.

Terms & Conditions
- The engagement is strictly contractual and full-time, for a period of 01 year (extendable), and will not confer any regular benefits.
- Normal working hours are 0900 to 1730 hrs; Saturdays/Sundays are closed. The Consultant shall not accept any other professional appointment during the term of engagement.
- The Consultant is not entitled to Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, Seniority, Promotion, HRA or other benefits available to regular employees.
- Paid leave of absence may be allowed at the rate of 1.5 days per completed month of service; leave cannot be claimed as a matter of right and is not permitted for more than 10 days at a time.
- Travel, accommodation and per-diem costs for official travel will be borne by the Ministry as per its guidelines.
- The contract may be terminated on one month's notice from either side or on payment of one month's pay in lieu thereof. Unauthorized absence may lead to termination.
