- Educational qualification: MBBS degree from an MCI/NMC recognised University/Institution, plus PG degree / DNB / Diploma in the concerned specialty from a recognised University/Institute, registered with DMC/NMC.
- Age limit (as on date of interview): UR & EWS — not exceeding 45 years; OBC — not exceeding 48 years; SC/ST — not exceeding 50 years. Age relaxation of 10 years is admissible in the case of PWD candidates.
- Registration: the candidate must have valid registration with the Delhi Medical Council at the time of interview.
- Tenure: total tenure of Senior Residency will not normally exceed three years including the period served in other Government hospitals. If enough candidates are not available, candidates who have completed 3 years of senior residency but are willing to serve will be allowed to appear; a separate list will be prepared and considered after the list of fresh candidates is exhausted, with the total tenure not exceeding five years including service in other Government hospitals.
- Other conditions: appointment is subject to medical fitness and verification of educational qualification, caste, age and DMC registration certificate. No private practice whatsoever is allowed during residency. Inter-hospital/inter-institutional transfer is not permitted. The engagement confers no claim or right to regular appointment.

- Candidates seeking reservation benefits must submit the caste certificate in their own name issued by the competent authority (for OBC, a valid certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of India); EWS candidates must submit the EWS certificate before the interview.
- All communication will be made through email only, hence write a correct email address in the form. No telephonic call will be made for the result or waiting confirmation. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
