Karnataka State Police (KSP), through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), invites online applications from eligible male candidates for direct recruitment of Armed Police Constable (PC AR - CAR/DAR) posts under two divisions: General Karnataka (1,421 posts) and Kalyana Karnataka (179 posts). Total 1,600 vacancies are to be filled by this recruitment drive.
Total Vacancies: 1,600 (Male only)
- General Karnataka Division: 1,421 posts (Notification No. 04/Recruitment-5(A)/2026-27)
- Kalyana Karnataka Division: 179 posts (Notification No. 04/Recruitment-5(B)/2026-27)
- Posts allocated across City Armed Reserve (CAR) and District Armed Reserve (DAR) units
Salary: Rs.37,500 to Rs.76,100 per month as per Karnataka Government pay scale. Selected candidates will also receive allowances as per rules.
Essential Qualification:
- PUC (Class 12) or equivalent examination passed from a recognised board or institution
- Candidates must possess the marks card of PUC/12th on or before the last date of application
- Candidates who have appeared and are awaiting results are NOT eligible
- Must have studied Kannada as first or second language at SSLC (Class 10) level OR must pass the Kannada language examination conducted by KEA
Age Limit (as on 22 July 2026):
- General: 18 to 33 years
- SC/ST/OBC: 18 to 35 years (relaxation up to 5 years as per government notification)
- Forest Tribal (Category-I): 18 to 38 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Additional 3 years relaxation on top of length of military service
- 10% of posts reserved for Ex-Servicemen and their dependents
Physical Standards:
Height: 168 cm (General), 165 cm (SC/ST/OBC - relaxation as per rules)
Chest: 81-86 cm (General), 79-84 cm (SC/ST/OBC)
Weight: Proportionate to height as per medical standards

Selection Process:
Stage 1 – Written Examination (OMR based):
- 100 Multiple Choice Questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes duration
- Subjects: General Science, Geography, History, Indian Constitution, Reasoning, General Studies
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer
- General Karnataka Exam: 6 September 2026, 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
- Kalyana Karnataka Exam: 6 September 2026, 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM
Stage 2 – Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of height, chest, weight
Stage 3 – Physical Endurance Test (PET): Running, long jump, high jump, shot put as per standards
Stage 4 – Medical Examination: Fitness assessment by Medical Board
Stage 5 – Document Verification: Verification of all original certificates

4. Fill the online application form with personal, educational and category details
5. Upload scanned photograph (white background) and signature (black ink)
6. Pay the application fee online
7. Submit the form and download the acknowledgement for future reference
Important Notes:
- Only male candidates are eligible. Female candidates should apply for Civil Police Constable (CPC) posts.
- Kalyana Karnataka candidates need a valid Hyderabad-Karnataka regional eligibility certificate.
- Candidates must opt for examination centre and division carefully as per their eligibility.
- Details once submitted cannot be modified.
- Admit card will be released on the KEA website before the exam date.
