Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 08 of 2026 dated 4 August 2026 (Ref. No. JKSSB-PLAN/6/2025-03 (E-7661495)) inviting online applications for 518 UT/Divisional/District Cadre posts across four departments – Agriculture Production, Health & Medical Education, Higher Education, and Labour & Employment – including Horticulture Technician Grade-IV, Junior Staff Nurse, Junior Lab Technician, Junior Pharmacist and more. Candidates can apply online from 10 September 2026 to 9 October 2026 at the official website jkssb.nic.in. The last/cut-off date for domicile, qualification and category certificates is 09.10.2026.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Overview

Agriculture Production Department (46 Posts)

Qualification: Senior Canning Attendant requires Matric with minimum 6 months training in Fruit Preservation duly approved by the authority concerned. Horticulture Technician Grade-IV requires 10+2 (Matric plus 12th class) with one year Basic Horticulture training from a Central/State/UT Government institution, a UGC-recognised university, an agricultural/horticultural university, an ICAR institute or any other recognised institution.

Health & Medical Education Department (421 Posts)

Qualification varies by post: Health Educator requires Graduation with Science; Sanitary Inspector requires 10+2 or above with a minimum 2-year Diploma in Sanitation and Public Health; Junior Pharmacist requires 10+2 Science with a Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy; Para Medical Assistant requires 10+2 with a Diploma in Para Medical Assistant Course; Junior Theatre Technician requires Matric or above with a Degree/Diploma in Operational Theatre Technology; Junior Ophthalmic Technician requires Matric or above with a Degree/Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician Course; Junior Lab Technician requires Matric or above with a minimum 2-year Diploma (or degree) in Lab Technology; Junior Staff Nurse requires Matric with Science and a Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery; FMPHW/MMPHW require Matric or above with Science and the respective Diploma (minimum 1 year for MMPHW).

Higher Education Department (48 Posts)

Junior Laboratory Assistant requires a Graduate degree with Science; preference will be given to candidates holding a Post Graduate Diploma in a professional laboratory course in Chemistry or another Science subject. "Graduate in Science" means a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Zoology/Botany) or Mathematics and their derivative subjects.

Labour & Employment Department (3 Posts)

Supervisor requires Matriculation or an equivalent examination from a recognised University or Board of Examination.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Domicile Requirement: Candidates must be Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on or before the cut-off date (09.10.2026), unless extended.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

Every Ex-Servicemen who has served in the Armed Forces may deduct the period of such service from their actual age; if the resultant age does not exceed the prescribed maximum age limit by more than 3 years, they are deemed to satisfy the age condition, provided the candidate is not born after 01.01.2008.

Fee can be paid only through online mode (Net Banking, Credit or Debit cards). Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected. Fee once paid is not refunded under any circumstances.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Salary / Pay Scale

Pay scale is specific to each post, ranging from Level-2 (Rs. 19,900–63,200) for Senior Canning Attendant, Horticulture Technician Grade-IV, FMPHW, MMPHW, Junior Laboratory Assistant and Supervisor, to Level-4 (Rs. 25,500–81,100) for Junior Pharmacist, Para Medical Assistant, Junior Theatre Technician, Junior Ophthalmic Technician, Junior Lab Technician and Junior Staff Nurse, Level-6 (Rs. 35,400–112,400) for Health Educator, and Level-6D (Rs. 35,800–113,200) for Sanitary Inspector.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection for all posts is made purely on the basis of merit obtained in a Written/OMR Examination; there is no interview stage. The examination consists of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions set in English language only, with negative marking of one-fourth (25%) of the marks assigned to a question for each wrong answer. The date, venue and syllabus will be notified separately on the JKSSB website.

PwBD candidates with a valid disability certificate may avail a Scribe and/or compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour on producing Annexure-B and Annexure-C. Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification must appear with original documents and self-attested photocopies (Birth Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Category Certificate and qualification certificates), all valid on or before the cut-off date. No TA/DA is paid.

2. Fill the online application form; applications through any other mode will not be accepted.
3. Clearly indicate the item number(s)/post(s) being applied for; only one application per item number is allowed.
4. Upload a live photograph, signature (10–20 KB), category certificate (max 100 KB PDF) and qualification/experience certificates (self-attested, max 100 KB PDF).
5. Pay the applicable application fee online through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.
6. Review all entries before final submission, since no changes are entertained after submission.
