- Trade-wise qualification as in the table above; distance / part-time / correspondence qualifications not considered; prior apprenticeship holders not eligible.
- Age 18 to 25 years as on last date (relaxation SC/ST +5, OBC(NCL) +3, PWD +10).
- Higher professional qualifications (ME/M.Tech, MCA, MBA, MSc, MA, M.Com, CA/ICWA, PhD, LLB, except AAO(P)) need not apply.
- Stipend as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
- Selection by merit list on qualifying-exam marks with priority: land-affected, mining-area / peripheral villages (10 km), employee wards, Kollam district, Kerala state, others.
