Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a leading Public Sector Bank with headquarters in Chennai, has invited online applications (Advt No. HRDD/RECT/02/2026-27) for recruitment of 250 Local Bank Officers (LBO) in JMGS - I. The selected candidates shall be posted in the applied state only.

State-wise Vacancy Details

PwBD vacancies: VI-2, HI-2, OC-5, ID-3 (horizontal reservation). Some states include backlog vacancies.

Educational Qualification

• A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such.
• Proficiency (reading, writing and speaking) in the local language of the state applied for - Tamil (Tamil Nadu), Kannada (Karnataka), Marathi (Maharashtra), Gujarati (Gujarat).

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026)

Minimum 20 years and Maximum 30 years (born not later than 01.08.2006 and not earlier than 02.08.1996, both days inclusive).

Pay Scale & Emoluments

JMGS-I (Assistant Manager Scale I): Basic Rs. 48,480 - 2000/7 - 62,480 - 2340/2 - 67,160 - 2680/7 - 85,920 plus DA, HRA, CCA as per rules in force.

• Probation: 2 years (active service) from the date of joining.
• Financial Service Indemnity Bond of Rs. 2,00,000 for a minimum 3 years of service.
• Selected candidates will be posted within the applied state for the first 12 years or up to promotion to SMGS-IV Grade, whichever is earlier.
• One advance increment for each prior completed year of service as Officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks (max 02) where the job profile matches a Scale-I Generalist Officer.

Online Examination Structure

Negative marking: 1/4th (0.25) mark deducted per wrong answer; no penalty for unattended questions. Minimum qualifying aggregate: 35% (UR) and 30% (reserved). LPT exempt for candidates who studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard. Minimum qualifying marks in Interview: 50% (UR) and 45% (reserved). Final selection weightage: Online Exam 80% + Personal Interview 20%.

3. Fill the online application and upload photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as per specifications.
4. Pay the application fee online via Debit/Credit Card, Internet Banking, BHIM or UPI.
5. Apply for one state only and submit before 24.08.2026. Keep a printout of the submitted application.
