Post Details
- Name of Post: Staff Car Driver [Ordinary Grade]
- Category: General Central Services, Gr-C, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
- Pay Level: Level-2 (₹19,900–63,200) as per Pay Matrix (7th CPC) + Admissible Allowances
- Period of Deputation: Up to 3 years
- Probation: 2 years for re-employed candidates
Eligibility Criteria
Category I — Serving Employees of Department of Posts:
- Regular Dispatch Rider [Group-C] or MTS [Group-C] in Pay Matrix Level-1 (₹18,000–56,900) in the Department of Posts
- Possession of valid Driving License for driving Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV)
Category II — Regular Group-C Employees of Other Central Ministries:
- Regular Dispatch Rider or Group-C employee in Pay Matrix Level-1 (₹18,000–56,900) in other Central Government Ministries
- Must fulfill the following conditions:
- Possession of valid Driving License for LMV & HMV
- Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (ability to remove minor defects in vehicles)
- At least 3 years experience in driving Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles
- Pass in 10th Standard from recognized Board/Institute
Category III — Armed Forces Personnel:
- Personnel due to retire or transferred to reserve within 1 year, with requisite experience and qualifications
- Given deputation terms up to release date from Armed Forces, thereafter re-employed
Desirable Qualification
3 years service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteer.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 56 years as on closing date of receipt of applications
- No age relaxation specified for reserved categories (deputation posts)
Reservation
No provisions for reservation exist for posts filled up on deputation/absorption basis.

- Apply in duplicate in the prescribed Proforma (Annexure-I) through proper channel
- Submit along with certificate from forwarding authority (Annexure-II)

Documents Required
- Integrity Certificate
- List of major/minor penalties imposed during last 10 years (NIL certificate if none)
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate
- Attested photocopies of APAR for last 5 years (2020-2021 to 2024-2025), attested by Gazetted Officer
- Experience certificate for driving LMV & HMV for 3 years, attested by Gazetted Officer
- Valid Driving License for LMV & HMV, attested by Gazetted Officer
- 10th Standard certificate, attested by Gazetted Officer
Driving Test
Driving test and trade test will be carried out as per pattern/syllabus prescribed vide Directorate letter No.F.No.08-01/2019-SPN-I dated 17.06.2022.

- Only serving eligible Government employees can apply
- Services must be spareable immediately on selection
- Applications not forwarded through proper channel will not be entertained
