The Indian Army (Directorate General of Recruiting) has released the notification for NCC Special Entry Scheme – 125th Course (April 2027) for Short Service Commission (Non-Tech) for Men, including Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel.

Vacancy Details (Total 70)

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Citizen of India, subject of Nepal, or person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka or specified East African countries (with eligibility certificate; not required for Gorkha subjects of Nepal).
• Age Limit: 19 to 25 years as on 01.01.2027 (born between 02.01.2002 and 01.01.2008, both dates inclusive).
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree from a recognised university.
• NCC Requirement: Minimum 'B' Grade in the NCC 'C' Certificate examination, after serving at least two/three years in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC.
• Final-year students may also apply provided they complete their degree before the course begins.
• Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

Wards of Battle Casualties: Unmarried sons and daughters (including legally adopted) of Army personnel classified as Battle Casualties (killed in action, died of wounds, wounded/injured, or missing presumed dead). Same graduation qualification applies, but an NCC 'C' Certificate is not required.

Pay & Stipend

During the 49-week training at OTA Chennai, cadets receive a fixed stipend of Rs. 56,100 per month. On commissioning, cadets draw pay as per Pay Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500) along with Military Service Pay of Rs. 15,500 per month.

Selection Process

Shortlisting (based on bonus marks – up to 50 for NCC 'C' Certificate grade and up to 50 for graduation performance) → SSB Interview (Stage I & II, max 5 days at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru or Jalandhar) → Medical Examination → Merit List → Joining Letter.

How to Apply

1. Visit www.joinindianarmy.nic.in and click on 'Officer Entry Application/Login'.
2. Complete registration, then click 'Apply Online' under the Dashboard and select 'Eligibility' on the Officers Selection page.
3. Apply against the "Short Service Commission NCC Special Entry Course" option, fill in all details and submit before 20.08.2026 (1500 hrs).
4. Take two printouts of the submitted application (with Roll Number) 30 minutes after the final closure of the online application.
