India Post GDS Online Engagement 2026 (Schedule-II) – Gramin Dak Sevak (BPM, ABPM & Dak Sevak)
Department of Posts, India Post (Ministry of Communications, Government of India) has issued Notification No. 17-12/2026-GDS dated 20th August 2026 inviting online applications for engagement of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) i.e. Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevaks in different offices of the Department of Posts under GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026. This is a nation-wide all-India recruitment covering all Circles/Divisions.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 40 years
- Age relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10/13/15 years
Educational Qualification
- Secondary School Examination (SSE) pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English from any recognized Board of School Education.
- Applicant should have studied local language at least up to 10th standard.
- Knowledge of computers and cycling.
- Adequate means of livelihood.

Selection Process
- Merit list based on marks obtained in Secondary School Examination (10th Standard) aggregated to percentage.
- System-generated merit list – no written exam/interview.
- Shortlisted candidates called for physical verification of documents and pre-engagement formalities.

- Complete One-Time Registration (only one registration per candidate).
- Fill in the online application form with accurate details, marks, preference etc.

Important Instructions
- Only one registration per candidate; multiple/duplicate applications will be rejected.
- Correction/edit window of 2 days (23-24 September 2026) after closing date.
- GDS are not regular Central Government employees; their service conditions are governed by GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020.
- Candidates must have valid mobile number and email ID for all communications.
- Selected candidates will be paid TRCA (Time Related Continuity Allowance) with 3% annual increase plus Dearness Allowance.
