- Research Associate: doctorate in Thermal, Mechanical, Energy or Chemical engineering with at least 75% marks at UG/PG level; PhD work in chemical kinetics or combustion simulation preferred.
- JRF/SRF: M.Tech in Thermal, Mechanical, Energy or Chemical engineering with at least 75% at B.Tech and M.Tech level and NET/GATE; NET/GATE may be relaxed for CFTI graduates with CGPA above 8.000 (80% aggregate).
- Jr. Project Assistant (Tech.): B.Tech or Diploma in Thermal, Mechanical, Energy or Chemical engineering, or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Chemical or Physics, with at least 75% marks.
- 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates.

About the project
IIT Delhi invites applications for project appointments under the project “Developing an effective protocol to mitigate foaming in flue gas desulfurization-absorber unit due to biomass co-firing in thermal power plants: Part 1” (RM0081G), funded by CPRI Bangalore, in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering. Advertisement No. IITD/IRD/296/2026 dated 23.10.2026.
Work
The selected candidates will visit NCR thermal power plants regularly to collect biomass and foam samples, carry out proximate, ultimate, FTIR, XRD and ICP-MS characterisation, study foaming mechanisms in the FGD absorber and support optimisation of biomass blending and CFD simulation.
