IIT Ropar Eligibility Criteria 2026
- Assistant Professor Grade-I: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout, plus a minimum of three years post-Ph.D. teaching / research / professional experience (excluding Ph.D. research experience), with demonstrated research capability in terms of publications in reputed journals and conferences.
- Assistant Professor Grade-II: Candidates satisfying all criteria other than the post-PhD experience criteria for Grade-I may be appointed as Grade-II with appropriate pay based on post-doctoral experience.
- Reservation: As per Government of India norms. This is a special recruitment drive for SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories.
- This is a rolling advertisement – candidates are encouraged to apply at the earliest; applications are processed periodically.

Indian Institute of Technology Ropar invites applications for the post of Assistant Professor Grade-I / Grade-II in various academic departments under a special recruitment drive for SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories. This is a rolling advertisement; applications will be processed periodically.
Pay Scale
Assistant Professor Grade-I: Pay Level 12 (Rs. 1,01,500–1,67,400), basic pay Rs. 1,01,500/- per month. On completion of 3 years (subject to satisfactory performance and Assessment Committee recommendation), eligible for movement to Academic Level 13A (Rs. 1,31,400–2,04,700).
Assistant Professor Grade-II: Entry at Academic Level 10 (Rs. 57,700–98,200) with basic pay Rs. 70,900/-, moving to Level 11 after 1 year (basic Rs. 84,800) and 2 years (basic Rs. 87,300) post-Ph.D. experience.
