Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, Research & Development Office invites online applications for a temporary position of Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Mathematics. Essential Qualification/Experience (as per Institute norms)
- Candidates must have pursued their PhD from a reputed institution in India and submitted their thesis on/before the last date of advertisement. A copy of the certificate/provisional certificate needs to be submitted along with other documents.
- The candidate should have bright academic credentials and good research experience in Commutative Algebra.
- The percentage/grade points with respect to the academic qualifications should be a minimum of 60% or equivalent grade from Graduation onward and 55% or equivalent grade in class 10th and 12th.
Desirable Qualification/Experience
- Knowledge of Computer Algebra software like Macaulay, Singular, GAP, SAGE and good communication skill in English.
Job Description
The project aims to study open problems related to certain invariants of local rings arising in singularity theory, particularly at the interface of commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. The selected candidate is expected to contribute to the research project through collaboration and to explore new research directions of mutual interest.
