The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru invites eligible and highly motivated individuals to attend a walk-in interview for the post of Scientific Administrative Assistant under the NCSTC/DST funded project titled “Astronomy outreach as a tool to promote science literacy in rural and other under-served communities”, anchored by its Science Communication, Public Outreach and Education (SCOPE) Section.

Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor or BS degree in Physics / Mathematics, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grade from a recognised University / Institution under UGC or Central or State Governments.
Essential Skills
- Basic knowledge of astronomy, especially amateur astronomy.
- Knowledge of Google services and relevant project management tools.
Desirable
- Experience in science or astronomy communication or education.
- Experience in project management.
- Knowledge of spoken Kannada.
Job Description
- Help organise and conduct astronomy workshops and in-person activities.
- Support management of the project through report writing, documentation, and tracking timelines and deliverables.
- Help with online communication with various stakeholders.
Walk-in Interview Details
Date: 07 October 2026, between 09.00 AM and 05.00 PM at the Institute Campus, 2nd Block, Koramangala, Sarjapur Road, Bengaluru – 560034. Candidates must register between 09.00 AM and 10.00 AM; late entrants will not be entertained.
How to Apply
- Attend the walk-in interview with the duly filled prescribed application, passport-size photograph pasted on top, original certificates and one set of self-certified photocopies.
- Bring original and one copy of CV, date of birth proof, educational qualification certificates, experience certificates (if applicable) and ID proof.
