The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru invites highly motivated individuals to attend a walk-in interview for the post of Design and Analysis Engineer (Software) for astronomy communication and outreach / instrument development work. The selected candidate will be part of the instrument development team handling design, fabrication, calibration and testing for ground and space-based astronomy experiments.

Essential Qualifications
- Full time M.E / M.Tech / M.S degree in Electronics / Electronics and Communication / Electrical and Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechanical / Computer Science / Astronomy and Astrophysics with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grade from a recognised University / Institution under UGC or Central or State Governments; and 1 (one) year of post-qualification experience in C Programming / Embedded C Programming, with hands-on experience in developing microcontroller-based software in a reputed Industry / Research Organisation.
- OR Full time B.E / B.Tech degree in Electronics / Electronics and Communication / Electrical and Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechanical / Computer Science with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grade from a recognised University / Institution under UGC or Central or State Governments; and 3 (three) years of post-qualification experience in C Programming / Embedded C Programming, with hands-on experience in developing microcontroller-based software in a reputed Industry / Research Organisation.
Desirable
- Experience in Python Programming and GUI design.
- Candidates with higher qualification in the relevant field and experience will also be considered.
Walk-in Interview Details
Date: 05 October 2026, between 09.00 AM and 05.00 PM at the Institute Campus, 2nd Block, Koramangala, Sarjapur Road, Bengaluru – 560034. Candidates must register between 09.00 AM and 10.00 AM; late entrants will not be entertained.
How to Apply
- Attend the walk-in interview with the duly filled prescribed application, passport-size photograph pasted on top, original certificates and one set of self-certified photocopies.
- Bring original and one copy of CV, date of birth proof, educational qualification certificates, experience certificates (if applicable) and ID proof.
- No TA/DA will be reimbursed. The appointment is purely on a contract basis.
