Himachal Pradesh Jal Shakti Vibhag – Jal Shakti Division, Reckong Peo, Distt. Kinnaur (H.P.) invites applications from eligible candidates for the following posts purely on part time/hourly basis for operation and maintenance of Water Supply Irrigation Schemes under Jal Shakti Division, Reckong Peo, which are allocated by the Engineer-in-Chief, Jal Shakti Vibhag, Shimla vide letter No. JSV-ES-III-D.W.Manpower-Vol.-VIII/2025-8509-14 dated 24.03.2026, No. 34-39 dated 06.04.2026 and No. 488-93 dated 20.04.2026.

Age limit

The minimum age shall be 18 years and maximum 45 years as on 09.11.2026.

Essential qualification

• Para Pump Operator – Minimum qualification of Matriculation (10th) with an ITI certificate in the trade of Electrician/Wireman/Diesel Mechanic/Pump Mechanic/Motor Mechanic/Pump Operator-cum-Mechanic/Motor Mechanic (Motor Vehicle/Pump Operation & Maintenance/Pump Operator) from a recognized ITI, or a Matriculation (10th) certificate in the above-cited trades under the Skill Development Scheme of the Government.
• Para Fitter – Minimum qualification of Matriculation (10th) with an ITI certificate in the trade of Fitter/Plumber from a recognized ITI/institute, or a Matriculation (10th) certificate in the above-cited trades under the Skill Development Scheme of the Government.
• Multipurpose Worker – Minimum qualification of Middle pass (8th) or its equivalent from a school duly recognized by the State Government. All candidates must ensure they submit their 8th standard marks sheet.
• Candidates belonging to SC, ST, EWS and OBC categories may submit their category certificate duly signed by the competent authority.

For Para Pump Operator and Para Fitter:

• Bonafide Himachali Certificate
• Matriculation certificate showing detailed marks obtained
• Relevant ITI skill development certificate
• Legitimate proof of age
• BPL certificate (issued not later than 6 months)
• Experience certificate as described
• Character certificate issued by a 1st Class Magistrate
• SC/ST/OBC/EWS Certificate issued by the competent authority as per H.P. Government notification
• For EWS category, an income certificate issued not older than 6 months

For Multipurpose Worker:

• Bonafide Himachali Certificate
• Middle standard certificate showing detailed marks obtained
• Legitimate proof of age
• Experience certificate as described
• Character certificate issued by a 1st Class Magistrate
• SC/ST/OBC/EWS Certificate issued by the competent authority as per H.P. Government notification
• For EWS category, an income certificate issued not older than 6 months

Mode of selection

The total selection process is of 10 marks with the following distribution:

• Percentage of marks/grades obtained in Matriculation (for Para Pump Operator/Para Fitter) or in Middle/8th standard (for Multipurpose Worker) – 5 marks (6 marks for Multipurpose Worker)
• BPL family having income as prescribed from time to time – 1 mark (not applicable to Multipurpose Worker)
• Experience in the related field of JSV/HPPWD/CPWD/PSUs or any authorized outsourcing agency providing services in Jal Shakti Vibhag — half (1/2) mark for every six months – 2 marks
• Skill test and physical test for Para Fitter/Para Pump Operator, and physical test for Multipurpose Worker – 2 marks

Experience and tests

Experience must be of the related field of IPH/HPPWD/CPWD/PSU or an outsourcing agency providing services in HP Jal Shakti Vibhag, certified by the EE (JSV). Related experience for Para Pump Operator means operation of pumping machinery and allied electrical installation of Rural Water Supply/irrigation schemes; for Para Fitter, maintenance of the village piped water supply infrastructure or distribution system.

Physical test – the candidate should be capable of carrying tools and pipes in hilly areas and should not have any physical disabilities or colour blindness.

Important date

• The application form neatly typed/handwritten in English/Hindi, along with attested/self-attested copies of relevant supporting documents, should reach the office of the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Division, Reckong Peo, Distt. Kinnaur H.P. on or before 09.11.2026 up to 5:00 P.M. Applications received after the last date or found incomplete will be rejected straight away without assigning any reason.
• The posts shall be increased/decreased at any time.
• Initial merit based on the experience and qualification of the candidate shall be drawn as per the criteria notified, and the top most eligible candidates (at least 5 times the number of vacancies) will be called for the skill/physical test. Separate call letters will be issued; applicants should mention their phone number in the application form. No TA/DA will be payable to applicants appearing in the skill and physical test.

Terms and conditions of service

• The selected incumbent will be paid honorarium at Rs.7,100/- P.M. for Para Fitter/Para Pump Operator and Rs.6,000/- P.M. for Multipurpose Workers.
• The working hours of the incumbent shall be 6 hours per day.
• A quarterly self-reporting format shall be filled and submitted to the Junior Engineer concerned; at the end of each financial year a consolidated report shall be placed for community certification of satisfactory work and conduct, sent electronically to the concerned Superintending Engineer.
• Unsatisfactory performance may result in termination of appointment; the process shall not be completed unless at least 3 notices have been served on a specific charge and there has been no improvement.
• Multipurpose Worker candidates must attach the detailed marks sheet of the middle standard certificate; in the event of non-issuance, the detailed marks certificate from the Principal of the school is to be attached. Evaluation and shortlisting is based on marks obtained in the Middle standard only.
• Selected candidates should be deputed/engaged on the schemes which are already outsourced to firms/contractors, and any request for transfer from the scheme will not be accepted at a later stage.
• Selected candidates shall be deputed under the jurisdiction of Jal Shakti Division, Reckong Peo (i.e. under Jal Shakti Sub Division, Reckong Peo, Sangla & Nichar).
