Himachal Pradesh Jal Shakti Vibhag – Jal Shakti Division, Reckong Peo, Distt. Kinnaur (H.P.) invites applications from desirous candidates on the prescribed proforma for filling up the posts of Para Cook and Para Helper for operation and upkeep of Rest Houses/Inspection Huts on Honorarium basis, as per the norms fixed in the Para Policy of Jal Shakti Vibhag. Notice No. KNR-JSD-PEO-EA-II-Notice-Para Cook & Helpar/2026-27-6580-81 dated 22.10.2026.
The posts are in pursuance of the approval of the Additional Chief Secretary (JSV) vide letter No. JSV-A-F (1) - 1/2023 dated 23.10.2024, circulated by the Engineer-in-Chief, JSV vide letter No. JSV-ES-III-Manpower-Para Cook/Helper/2022-4414-99 dated 04.11.2024 and the Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Circle, Reckong Peo endorsement No. KNR-SE-JSC-R/Peo-EA-III-Helper/2024-2955-58 dated 20.11.2024.

Eligibility
- Citizen of India.
- Bonafide Himachali.
- Having sound mind.
- No family member of the candidate should be in any kind of Government/PSU/Board job.

- Permanent resident of the area under Jal Shakti Circle, Reckong Peo, Distt. Kinnaur (HP).
Educational qualification
Para Cook –
- The candidate should have passed the matriculation examination from a school/institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. The condition of passing 10th from a Himachali school shall not be applicable to Bonafide Himachali.
- The candidate must possess a degree/diploma in any trade from a Government approved Hotel Management Institute/Institute of Hotel Management or Food Production Institute, or a minimum of 5 (five) years’ experience in cooking/catering from any Government or private institution.
Para Helper –
- The candidate should have passed the matriculation examination from a Board/University recognized by the H.P./Central Government. The condition of passing 10th from a Himachali school shall not be applicable to Bonafide Himachali.
Documents to be submitted with the application
Self-attested copies of the following documents shall be submitted with the application:
- Matriculation certificate showing details of marks obtained (if the candidate does not submit the detailed mark sheet, his/her application will be rejected).
- Degree/Diploma in any trade from a Government approved Hotel Management Institute/Institute of Hotel Management or Food Production Institute, or minimum 5 years’ experience in cooking/catering from any Government or private institution (applicable to Para Cook only).
- Bonafide Himachali certificate.
- Non-Employment Certificate regarding no family member of the candidate being employed in any kind of Government/PSU/Board job.
- Valid Character Certificate issued by a 1st Class Magistrate.
- BPL Certificate issued not later than six months (if any).
- Experience Certificate in the related field (if any).
- SC/ST/OBC/EWS Certificate issued by the competent authority as per H.P. Government notification.
- Medical fitness Certificate.
- Declaration of having never been involved in any act of criminal nature.
Selection criteria
Selection will be purely on merit basis. Marks will be awarded out of 10 by the Selection Committee:
- Percentage of marks obtained, calculated out of 5 (for example, 50% marks in 10th will be given 2.5) – 5 marks
- BPL family having annual income as prescribed from time to time – 1 mark
- Experience in the related field – 2 marks
- Skill test for Para Cook & Para Helper – 2 marks
Important date
- Notice dated – 22.10.2026
- Applications shall reach the office of the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Division, Reckong Peo, Distt. Kinnaur (HP) on or before 07.11.2026 up to 5:00 PM. Applications received after the due date or found incomplete will be rejected straight away without assigning any reason. The Department will not be responsible for delay in receipt of applications due to any reason.
Terms and conditions of service
- The selected incumbent will be paid honorarium at the rate of Rs.9,000/- per month for Para Cook and Rs.5,500/- per month for Para Helper.
- Unsatisfactory performance may result in termination of appointment by passing an order; the process of termination shall not be completed unless at least 3 notices have been served on the incumbent on a specific charge and there has been no improvement in service delivery.
- The working hours of incumbents shall be 6 hours per day.
- A quarterly self-reporting format (to be devised by the Jal Shakti Vibhag) shall be filled by the Para Cook and Para Helper and submitted to the Junior Engineer concerned. At the end of every financial year a consolidated report shall be placed for the community certification of satisfactory work and conduct, which shall be electronically sent to the concerned Superintending Engineer for the record.
