GeM Senior Manager (Vendor Validation) Job Details & Overview
The Government e-Marketplace (GeM), a Government company under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, invites applications for 01 post of Senior Manager – Vendor Validation (Level E-4) on a contractual basis under the Project Management Unit (PMU) for an initial period of 5 years, extendable on performance and organisational requirements (last date extended to 9 October 2026).
Role overview
- Manage the Vendor Assessment function – Vendor Assessment (VA), Relaxed VA, Validation of Service Providers (VSP), Validation of Forward Auction Buyers (VFA) and Brand Approval (BA) per the GeM Vendor Validation Policy
- Supervise end-to-end vendor assessment operations; monitor third-party Vendor Validation Agency performance; examine complex cases (document validation, manufacturing capability, land-border compliance, exemptions, service-provider validation, government certifications); review audits and corrective actions; develop SOPs and quality standards; drive technology-led enhancements
Essential qualification and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Management / Economics / Commerce / Law from a recognised institution
- Minimum 8 years total professional experience including at least 3 years in vendor capability / compliance assessment, quality assurance and certification, public procurement or related domains
- Desirable: additional qualifications in Procurement, Product / Quality / Data Analytics, Six Sigma or Project Management; qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Company Secretary (CS) preferred
- Posting at New Delhi; crucial eligibility date is the last date of receipt of applications
