Preparation Guidance

Derived strictly from the structure of the official notification:

  • General Topics are common to every DSSSB engineering post – General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability and both language papers. Prepare this material once and reuse it across posts.
  • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability is a closed list. Work through each enumerated item explicitly rather than assuming general quantitative aptitude coverage.
  • Reasoning is verbal and non-verbal. Space visualisation, figure classification and arithmetical number series are separately listed and are commonly underestimated.
  • Budget time by subject count. The subject-specific headings above show where the paper weight sits for this post.
  • Both languages are examined independently. Hindi and English each test vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and correct usage.
  • Revise from the topic headings. The official notification lists explicit topic headings beneath each subject, which map directly onto the questions asked.
