DRDE Gwalior - DRDO Paid Internship Scheme (06 Months, starting 01 January 2027)

The Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior, a premier institute of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), invites applications from Indian citizens for the 06-month "Paid Internship Scheme of DRDO" starting from 01st January 2027, from students pursuing Graduate / Post Graduate courses and interested in getting aligned with R&D activities in a premier Defence R&D Organisation. Eligibility

• Students pursuing M.Sc. / equivalent (03rd / 04th Semester) or B.E. / B.Tech. (07th / 08th Semester) in the subjects listed against the subject codes.
• Good academic record with 75% and above marks (or CGPA 7.5 or above) from an AICTE / UGC approved College / University.
• A recent referral / sponsorship letter from the respective college / university (to be printed on college letter head and signed by the Principal / HoD).
• Age Limit: Below 28 years as on 14th November 2026.

Duration of Internship

• The duration of internship will be for a minimum period of 06 months. A completion certificate will be issued to students after completion of 06 months from the date of joining the internship programme.

Selection Procedure

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on educational qualification and on fulfilling the eligibility criteria. Mere applying with the required documents or fulfilling the criteria will not ascertain candidature / paid internship.
• If required, interaction will be done telephonically / through Video Conferencing (VC).
• Only shortlisted candidates will be informed regarding the interaction or offer of internship and they have to report to the Lab / Establishment as per the terms and conditions mentioned in the internship offer letter.
• Undertaking for adherence to the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923 and undertaking to follow IT Rules and Regulations applicable to the Ministry of Defence is mandatory.
• Incomplete / erroneous applications or applications received after the due date will be rejected. No further communication in this regard will be entertained.

Procedure for Submission of Application

Applications, along with the following documents, must be submitted to Director, DRDE, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Jhansi Road, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh - 474002 by speed post or by e-mail to [email protected] and [email protected], latest by 14th November 2026:

1. Duly filled application form (Annexure 'A') with a recent passport size photograph affixed.
2. Recent referral / sponsorship letter from the respective college / university.
3. Detailed resume.
4. Self-attested copies of all degrees / academic qualification certificates / mark sheets / experience certificates.
5. Copy of Aadhar Card & PAN Card.
6. Bank details.

Stipend, Boarding / Lodging & Other Terms

• Stipend: Rs. 5,000 per month (fixed) for the six-month internship; the stipend of the entire duration is paid in two equal installments of Rs. 15,000 after completion of 03 months and Rs. 15,000 after completion of 06 months of internship.
• Boarding / lodging: No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible; DRDO / Lab will not provide any accommodation to interns during the internship period.
• Attendance will be marked as per the Lab's / Establishment's process (biometric / Aadhar based). Working hours will be as per the Lab's / Establishment's time.
• No leave except sick leave, with production of a valid prescription, will be given.
• Gazetted / closed holidays as applicable in the Lab / Establishment will also be applicable.
• The student is required to submit a progress report after 03 months and a project report after 06 months / completion of the course; a certificate will be issued after successful completion of the project and submission of the report.
• Original copies of the referral / sponsorship letter, certificates / testimonials regarding qualifications, experience, age, ID and address are required to be produced for verification at the time of reporting.
• Electronics items such as smart phones / mobile phones / pen drives / laptops / CD-ROM and any type of electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the DRDE Gwalior campus.
• An offer of a paid internship does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO; no TA / DA will be paid for joining, if selected.
• The decision of the Director, DRDE Gwalior will be final in case of any discrepancy.
